there is a guy up the street selling his 99 ek with b18c5 swap.
he says it has hks intake/cam gears and cam,aem fuel rail, dc headers, exedy clutch and kaaz lsd and p28 ecu. the question is he said he wanted to get hondata but never got around to it. i was looking around and seems like the hondata s200 is the way to go. i would like to get as much out of this engine as i can spending about a grand right now. new to the honda scene.

1. is the s200 the way to go?
2. since im going to get her tuned should i do anything else to the engine prior to getting it tuned, anything else to buy to squeeze some more out of her?
3. would i need anything additional items to get the s200 to work?
4. and any tuning information could help...what kind of dyno is best, how much should it be, recommendations in socal.

Don't buy the car. If he didnt have it tuned or chipped correctly then you may be getting yourself in very deep. Especially being inexperienced.

the guy said he tuned it about two years ago. im not very familiar with the tuning aspect. is hondata neccessary to tune? he just said that it would be a good idea to get the thing retuned and maybe hondata. is there any rationale behind this

If its naturally aspirated or in other words not turbo or super charged, it shouldn't have to be tuned so often. Its nothing that should change very much over time other than natural effects. I would strongly advice moving forward and getting yourself a stock civic and learning the basics. In the end it will save you a lot of money, trust me.
