Default questions on bleeding brakes when car is started pressure seems lost

first off i have a 1991 crx in which i swapped my calipers and rotors in the front i tried bleeding the brakes but every time i go to start the car, all the pressure is lost. that is my main concern. also would it be a problem to have much better brakes in the front, like do the calipers go down together. the brakes were ok before switching the calipers and rotors, but they needed to be bled, because they would lock up some time, also how long would it take to fully bleed all the brakes in the worst possible situation, only a few minutes right. is it possible my brakes are fine, i just need to get the pedal higher?
