questions about a setup
would an h22a turbo be a better drag car than an supercharged ls or turbo? i had people tell me ls would be a lot faster than the h22a turbo. I'm new to this car thing and was just wondering. Thanks

The h22 is a 2.2L DOHC with VTEC, and an LS is a 1.8L DOHC without VTEC.
What do you think?
But, that said, I would rather own an LS-T.

How much money do you have to spend?
A B18b1-T may be better for you because of the cost more so than a H22-T would be. Can't base it off of just the motor alone... it takes cash to purchase it and if you dont have the cash it doesnt matter which is best ya know?

Re: questions about a setup (egbaby)
This is a benchracing question, which is so vague due to variety in setups between the two options that we can't give a for sure answer. All I could do is compare the two engines stock vs stock.
H22: torquey engine, good for dragging because of it's displacement. VTEC equipped, if that's a plus. FRM sleeves may not be good for too aggressive of a F/I setup.
B18B: Torquey engine, good for dragging, but less displacement than the H22. Will need better gearing. Does not come equipped with VTEC. Good gains with a VTEC head, but that comes with some work, and the reliability is a roll of the dice. Responds well to turbo, especially with a good build.
In terms of your question, I can't answer it, but I hope this general information will be helpful. Look around the forced induction forums about how these engines respond to F/I for more help.

Re: (teetee)
Can anyone here give a legitimate reason why an LS turbo is more reliable than an H22 turbo?
The answer is no.
What will be most reliable will depend on many variables including:
a) The quality of parts you buy
b) Who does you head work/ bottom end work/ builds the motor
c) Most importantly, reliability will be based mostly on your TUNE and who does the tuning.
Either of these setups can make equal power with equal reliability. The question becomes how much are you willing to spend?
