Questions about OEM SI air intake tube and box and ITR OEM air intake tube and box
How can I tell that I have a real SI (B16 motor) intake tube and filter box? Is there any distinct way I can that I have an actual OEM intake tube and filter box?
Whats the difference between an ITR OEM air intake tube and filter box and an SI OEM air intake and filter box?
This is going onto my SOHC engine, anything problems with putting either on of these on?
Thanks to you guys my new setup is this:
Either OEM/Stock SI or ITR air intake tube with Injen cold air extension and K&N cone filter...

here are pics of an Si airbox. That's actually a pretty good idea you've got. I'd almost try using a short ram to connect to the box, but i'm not sure about an injen cold air extension out the bottom though. Good luck with it.

If thats the stock si intake i feal sorry for you guys
The itr arm is 3 inchs around and only has one small vacuum hose
and the box dose not have the chambers like the one above
it's just square and has a round fillter
Hope that makes some sence?
I have the itr arm and fillter on me b20
but you might have some a hard time trying to get it to fit you sohc tb

Ver easy to tell the difference. ITR conical filter with single box and 3" tubing, dual chambered and panel filter with I think 2 1/4" tubing. (as seen above)
Si air box and tubing is definitely restrictive. I have seen about 10whp loss on my car compared to an AEM CAI, if not more. I do have indirect proof of it.
I have never heard of any restiction on ITR box and tubing. It's a much better design.
