Default questions about eg w/ h22/turbo swap!! help

I just got out of the integra world when my car was stolen 2 days ago. Im getting like 10,000$ from my insurrence and was concidering buying a 94, 95 or so eg. And an idea I had was to do a h22/turbo set up. But my questions intale the exact parts/modifications required for that swap AND if there is any turbo kits pre fabbed for that or am I going to have to build one up. If you guys could help me Id appreciate it... afterall I gotta learn all this **** over again!!! THANKS

A lot of $$$$, well your gonna need a motor mount kit, accord shift linkage, a h22 swap, some wiring knowledge (or have it professional rewired), a turbo kit, some serious tires and a serious suspension. Also if you have the money then sleeve the block. As far as a turbo kit you can either get a kit for a prelude and make some minor adjustments here and there or just peice together a nice turbo setup. Also i would get some form of engine management. Also try searching around on the net. If your gonna go turbo i would recomened doing a b series turbo setup because the motor will fit better and will have more room for the turbo.

Yea the money isnt an issue... as far as fitting? Would I have a clearence problem? And sleeving... would that be an issue? Its a strong block and its only like 10.6 compression. And management...eh FCON or something will due. I dont wnana buy a turbo kit if mods need to be made I might as well have the shop thats doing the swap take care of the turbo set up.

no clearance issues. hasport makes the mounts check their site. its done pretty commonly,a lot of ppl are gonna tell u that the engine is so heavy and ur gonna need major suspension and tire upgrades but they dont know what they are talking abt, its only abt 35lbs heavier than the b18. good luck and let us know

I had to move the radiator to fit the turbo. Im using HCP mounts and DSS axles. Its a tight fit, but as long as you dont get a huge exhaust manifold, everything should fit nicely

ive always heard if you want a turbo h series, an h23 is the way to go. ive heard a turbo h22 can have reliability issues. as far as fitment goes the only problem will be the bracket for the transmission mount. at least thats how my swap was. that bracket had to be trimed and a new hole was drilled out for the transmission mount. Other than that everything fit. its a tight fit but it fits.

is that because the h23 is a closed deck? im curious because i was going to try building one up

Has anyone ever tried putting the Greddy Turbo kit into a EG w/ a H22? and what will not fit? only the intercooler piping?

no, the H22 has a solid deck too, but tuning vtec and a turbo is a hassle, the h23 IS the way to go, unless you are looking for MAD power up high. to fit the right turbo for the amount of air the 22 moves in vtec, you'll have one that is wayyyyyYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too big for the 22 to spin into boost before vtec.

so if you are anything but a drag race only driver, go with the h23, it is cheaper too, and way cheaper (and less) parts.

just think, tune the fuel to perfect on a dyno for 150 bucks, then up the boost, and start all over again, reset vtec to optimum, change boost to optimum, set fuel on a dyno.........etc.......etc.
