Questions About Buying Used Cams?
Hey,
Can you buy cams with high miles (like 50k)? It's not like they wear out or anything right? Also, how do you identify skunk2 stage 2 cams when buying them used?
Thanks.

it is weird, because the only time you see cams, they're brand new......I would assume you could buy used ones, i would check the classifieds forum, and/or ebay
not sure about telling the difference, im sure there is a different groove, or skunk2 stamped somewhere

I'll assume the lobes will wear down over time.

well cams sit on bearings(the head and cam caps) its pretty much like a figer print. every engine has a different wear. you can buy an used cam only if you double check the bearing clearances with plastiguage. if you run a cam which is out of specifications you can basically call your cylinder head junk. i wouldnt buy it used!
