Default Questions about black tail lights??

I recently had black out tailights on my civic but i had to remove them when i got a fix it ticket from the chp. THey said that it is illegal to not have the red showing. So i took them off but i want to put them back on but this time i want to black out the reverse and the amber of the tailights. Does anyone know if there is a law about modifying your tailights in california. Let Me KNow Thanks!!

Dunno, you could just stick with OEM and not worry. You could probably do a little google searching and find out about motor vehicle laws in california, possibly go to your state's dmv site.

Mine are smoked with VHT "Nightshades" tinting spray because some ******* hit me in a parking lot and cracked the passenger rear lens - the spray covers it up . In Ohio, no one cars. Then again, the Nightshades spray allows the normal amount of light through when the brake, turn signals or reverse lights are engaged, so yeah.

Good luck with Cali.

Ya might wanna check the laws a little better in your area. here in Indiana i dont gotta worry about jack. just noise pollution which i have yet to get a ticket for.
