questions about a 93 del sol
Im looking at buying this del sol for $500. The timing belt broke. The color on the outside is like a si blue. Is that the color that the del sols came in that were si's? Also don't the del sols come with b16's if their si's? Basically what im asking is how came i tell without the motor?

so your saying you are purchasing the car without the engine, or you dont know what it is yet because you haven't seen the engine bay? either way if your buying it knowing the timing belt is broke it would be safe to assume the engine is probably garbage. Since its a 1993 Si it has the sohc vtec d16z6. not until 1994 did the del sol si get the b16a dohc powerplant.

i havent technically seen the car yet only what he described over the phone he thinks the timing belt went will see i dont know. Will the b16 work with the 93 harness?

yes. no matter what honda/acura engine you want to drop in there you always retain your stock harness, aside from the k-series

If it's a 93, it can only be S or Si. Check the VIN number to find out...if it's EG1, you have an S (D15B7), if EH6, you have an Si (D16Z6).
Also, the only blue del Sol color was Captiva Blue Pearl, which was only offered on 93/94 S & Si's. It was also offered on the '92 Si hatch and '93 DX/VX.

thanks for the information guys . Im gonna go and take a look at it tomorrow and see what im gonna do i know it needs fenders and a bumper. Im just gonna use it as a dd. Supposedly the guy said the hood doesnt open so who knows the motor might not even be blown. I will snap some pics on my i phone tomorrow to see what you guys think.

I have del sol parts if you need anything let me know.
I have a front bumper that I'm going to take off my car, the bottom has a crack in it but def. fixable. I'm swapping my nose for a 97 front end. I also have a passenger fender with a small dent. I'd let both go for relatively cheap due to there problems. I also have a ton of interior parts.

And to clear up what engine went to which car, here are the three levels of del Sol and the engines they got:
93-95 S = D15B7
