Default questions about 92 dx

Did all the 92 dx HB come wired for vtec? A buddy of mine had one that had one that was, but the engine harness was just missing the vtec wires, and i am going to do the wiring on mine tonight, and i want to make it as clean as possible! I wanted to run it to the pin that connects to the engine harness, And am just looking for a head up on wheter the wires are there or not? Havent even looked yet, and i am a couple hours away from being able to?

From my knowledge (which isnt much sometimes) but the DX doesnt come wired. You would have to wire it up yourself to get it to work.

I know my 94 dx coupe didn't, so I'm assuming all 92-95 models without vtec didn't come wired for vtec. I don't know for sure though. Assume...

I thought that all 92 trim models came wired for VTEC, but going forward only the Si was. I am going totally off of memory here based on something that I recall reading here on HT quite some time ago.

If I am wrong, I will stand corrected.

After taking a look under the dash at the harness, it does have the wires for vtec, Then i verified the colors off some info from another website. So the 92 trim models do have wires for vtec! The strange thing is and i hope somebody can clarify this for me, I am only getting a code 21, but i have nothing hooked to my vtec solinoid? Wouldn't there be a code 21 and 22? I am using a dx harness, and a chipped p 28 ecu. the motor is a b16.

Early 92 had the VTEC wires.

Late 92+ only the VTEC cars had VTEC wires.

(Could be all of 92 had the VTEC harness, not sure).

Fact:

ALL 1992 CIVICS COME PREWIRED FOR VTEC FROM THE STRUT TOWER PLUGS TO THE ECU PLUGS.

I did a B18C5 swap into my 1992 CX hatchback (non VTEC model like the DX) and I used the Integra engine harness and guess what?

I did not have to add one single wire at all because I ran the Integra engine harness and a re-chipped P28 ECU.

You're getting the code BECAUSE the VTEC valve isn't wired up.

21
VTEC Solenoid Valve

22
VTEC Oil Pressure Switch

Why is my ecu only throwing a 21 when i have nothing hooked up to the vtec solinoid, shouldn't it be 21 and 22? That was my question?

And in case anybody is wondering what the other wire color was for the pressure switch it is orange/blue with white spots on it! And it is pin d6 at the ecu.
