That doesn't seem like very much work at all. Better start then most get. What did you pay for it?

Ya idk man that's really up to you. You like del sol's? If thats not your first choice of a honda you could probably get a decent amount for it and put that towards your next vehicle. I have a similar type of build that i've been slowly putting money into for years now but I love the car. Depends on if its worth it to you.

Stop it right there. You don't know if the car is worth rebuilding and you're thinking of doing a rear wheel drive conversion?

Im going to ignore the rwd question lol but if you want big power ditch the d series and talk to a shop about building and tuning you a nice b-series

If you do build and you got deep pockets I would defiantly swap out the D and go with something better. There's tons of options. B, H2B, and K swaps all do really well in our cars.

a turbo or heavy NA b20/h2b/k20 build will move. especially in a del sol. plus targa top. not to mention you got that car for basically a 1/3rd of what its really worth.

i'd be willing to bet itd outrun or hold up with your maro. when all is said and done.

If you fancy yourself a fabricator, and don't mind getting your hands REALLY dirty, you could always pull the motor and drivetrain out of a Civic wagovan. 4WD Sol anyone?

In all seriousness though, not the best idea in the world. B swap it, boost it, and have some fun. The Sol probably weighs half of what your muscles do, and only needs half the power to go just as fast.

The price of a B swap will net him a decent turbo kit and tune. The stock z6 can handle around 200whp, reliability will depend on your tune. Spanks any B-series swap. For another $500 you can get some forged rods and Vitaras and turn the boost up, I made 300whp on a built d16y8. Stock head, ebay manifold, I have about $1500 into the whole setup.

Also realize with a lot of horsepower you'll just be spinning everywhere. I don't have traction in 2nd with good summer tires (Yokohama S. Drives)

The b16a2 came stock in that car in the vtec model, i'm going through the same swap debate right now myself. a gsr will fit, a ctr b16b will fit in it, or you could build the d16y8 and boost the hell out of it

or you could put an h22a in it and have real fun. custom mounts will be worth the huge bump in power.

its one thing i wish i had done way back when i originally bought my motor.

Those prices are leaving out a lot of huge costs like machine work, gaskets, bearings, engine management and tuning, injectors, fuel pump, fpr, gauges, upgraded clutch, etc.

Nope, that price includes everything.

FPR? gauges? Are you kidding me? my boost gauge and oil pressure gauge was $30 shipped. Stock FPR is just fine.

Built motor - $550 included ALL gaskets, bearings, machining etc.
Clutch is a Competition Stage 5 - $200
450cc dsm injectors - $50
Rebuilt T3 60 trim - $125
Ebay manifold - $50
Wastegate - $25
Feed/drain - had laying around
Piping, BOV - $100
Tuning/ECU - $500

Anything else you can think of? That's $1600 and you're good to 300whp, more if you upgrade the turbo. That's about the price of a...LS swap?

I don't know why I wasted my time typing this up, the OP is never going to do it anyways

dont know if that includes the pistons/rods too or the fmic but i dont want to start an argument about it. either way thats a solid budget build. jw what engine management are you running?
