Question: Who here has a Fiber Image CF hood on their EG or EK?
Do you use hoodpins on yours? Since looking at FI's website, non of their pictures showed anyone using hoodpins, I wonder if that means it's safe to use their hood without the hoodlatch breaking? I expect cheaper CF hoods to use hoodpins, but with FI's more expensive CF hoods, is it safe?

alright, its both sides here, there are people who don't and do use hood pins. There are cases of CF popping up off the latch. But it seems it doenst really happen that often, people on HT had CF hoods without pins. I have locking Hood pins on mine.
Its a matter of style I suppose and if you feel secure enough. But since you posted a thread about hood pins, your already feel unsafe and skepitcal of CF hoods, so go and buy some now and feel safe.

i got a 1st generation FI hood about 3 years ago. at about 80mph, the ends flapped around even with the hood lip gasket on. to me, it's worth the peace of mind. my friend went to greatlakes dragway and saw a CF hood fly off a civic going down the strip.

Ive got a FI hood...nice...hoodpins help align it up also...in my opinion that is...well up and down..not side to side.....hoodpins are deffinately a must....

i got a FI hood on my 00si wit hood pins i put em on as soon as i got it so i dunno haven't heard much bout em flipping up ...but i guess just to be safe put em on unless u hate the look but then if your hood does fall off u gonna kill yourself for not spending the 20-40 bux that u coulda bought u the pins instead of a new windshield...just my thinkin...im covered so cover yourself its like insurance
