Default Question on Tuning...

Are there shops that will tune your car if you buy say a JET chip or v-afc?

and also, does the type of chip you get matter if you have a manual or AT

what is a good chip for AT and good chip for manual.

Don't buy a premade chip. Get your ecu chipped with a custom basemap and take it to a tuner and it will be done properly.

a good tuner can tune a vafc or a chip. I would recommend the chip since it actually alters the fuel maps and doesn't just alter the signal the ecu sees from certain sensors.

a good chip is a chip tuned for your specific car. any other chip is a bad chip. Every motor is different, buying a chip online with modified fuel maps designed around someone else's car is asking for trouble.

Yep. It doesn't matter if its hondata or uberdata, as long as your tuner knows what he's doing you'll be fine.

that all depends on what is local to you. tuning on the dyno would be your best bet.

S100 = chip burned with new fuel/ignition maps for your car.

S200 = S100 + datalogging capabilities (download info from car's sensors to pda or laptop to see what its doing).

S300 = S200 + real-time programming (change fuel/ignition maps on the fly).

There is a little more to it than that, but those are the biggest differences.

First thing you should do is find a tuner in your area, tell him/her your set up, price range, and see what he/she wants to do. They'll prolly tune you with crome, which is the best, hondata is just extra wasted money to me.

Crome is a program to make the maps to burn the chips, check out http://www.pgmfi.org Sure to find a tuner and more info there. Crome is free, CromePro (what a tuner will prolly use) is like 150.
