Question on tranny fluid.. 92 civic.
92 civic dx, auto tranny. I changed the tranny fluid myself about 2 months ago after I read how to do it thanks to honda-tech.com http://is.rely.net/1-92-29998-l-1gbM...AmVuBW3hGg.gif
Here is my question. When I changed it I bought 2 quarts and filled. I told a friend this the other day and he said that my tranny holds like 2.7-2.9 quarts and that I should fill her up. Is that true? Should I go back out and fill through the dipstick another .7 quarts or so? Thanks! |

I'm looking at the 1992 Civic Owner's manual and it says 3.0 US quarts for the auto tranny.
I would add more if I were you. http://is.rely.net/1-92-30009-l-tEzP...BTGi0jOCgA.gif https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/...ec/Manual2.jpghttps://i261.photobucket.com/albums/...ec/Manual1.jpg Modified by mcvtec at 8:39 AM 11/15/2008 |
holy shit.
Well the car did have extremely dirty tranny fluid when I changed it at like 89k or so(original motor) before I changed it the tranny would knock into gear a bit, after I changed it it almost completely went away, now every now and then I will recognize it, going uphill it usually happens. Another Quart it is! What does everyone else think? |
Just for reference, My 98 repair manual says 2.9 QT.
Id ad a bit more, Just check the dipstick as you do. |
will do. Iwill check it
