i am thinking of getting racing seats, i know the dangers. i was looking at the Y 3 point harness.

1. where are the mounting locations? any pics i know the rear mounting location is under the rear seat (rear seats removed)

2. do most people remove the stock belts since they have racing seat belts? i want to remove my rear seat belts no matter what, b/c i have no back seats!..

you need a rollbar (or rollcage, but a 4-pt bar will suffice) with a harness bar. the Kirk or Autopower rollbars are awesome

you need the harnesses to come off the back of the seat at a 90 deg angle with the seat (straight back), or it will collapse your spine if you are in a wreck. mounting the harnesses down at the floor or even to the back seat location is VERY dangerous, and most racing sanctions won't even allow it.

get a rear strut bar and attach it to the strut bar..I did that in my crx. Not sure how safe it is though..but felt sturdy to me. Never crashed tested, but thats an option.

i got a harness bar from ioport racing, its good quality, and it feels good. then attach the mounting points to the seat belt points

no they get bolted into your stock upper seat belt locations

i have mine mounted to the rear seat belt positions too, very sturdy

rollcage would probably be your 100% best bet though

i have the sides mounted to the floor behind the seats, drilled through and bolted them down...

any way without a roll bar is dangerous and stupid, even haveing a "harness guide bar" doesn't make it safe, cause if you get in a roll over accident the harness holds you in place, and keeps your head there for the smashing, unlike the traditional seat belt that will allow you to duck and not get smashed.

just cause you have a racing seat doesn't mean you need a harness.



that is the proper way to mount a harness.


and also the harness needs to be mounted as close to you as possible if you have it ancchored way in the back the harness will strech to much and fail to work
