yeaaaa its slow

I recently recieved 400 dollars as a christmas present from my relatives, and I was thinking about lowering my car.

I know with 400 dollars I wont be able to buy everything and properly lower it with this amount, but my 400 dollars is a start.

I have an apex n1, so I dont want to lower it alot because of scraping, but i want to eliminate the gap from the body to the tire.

My question is, what is a good setup to look into? I just want it lowered, I dont need it setup special or anything. I dont think 400 will get me much, but any help will do.

P.S. What else would you reccomend i could buy with 400? Its an auto, so nothing to make me go fast, and yes I plan on swapping in the near future.

For $400, you could buy the Tokico shock/spring kit.

Get some Ground Controls...they're 299$ I for an EG. You could ride stock shocks for now I guess.

find a set of type r springs. great cheap mod (75$) and will lower the car about an inch all around. just enough drop to fill the wheel wells....and the springs are great as well. i would find a nice set of shocks to go along with these as well...your stock shocks will get ripped if you do not....just a suggestion...

I have thought about a carbon fiber hood, and its something I really like, but I know nothing about carbon fiber hoods, like how to care for them, and any precautions that I might have to take.

I would look into the type r springs but like you said, I would have to get new struts as well.

Go to import auto salvage or any reliable junkstore and buy a complete integra suspension and brakes.
It will include
bigger brakes, sway bars( front and back), proportioning valve, bigger master cylinder.

Car will handle much better than just lowering it.

Money better spent IMO.

if i was on a budget id opt for the eibach pro kit with tokico blues..the spring rate is so stiff that ull need a more pricy shock...and if u dont have alot of miles on the stock shock s u may be able to squeeze 10k in befor needing shocks

Get some Integra Type-R springs and cut the top coil off, it's a 2.5" drop, and some Tokico shocks. Friend of mine has it on his '95 DX Coupe, very stiff and solid an excellent ride He spent $100 for the ITR springs and $200 for the Tokicos. Wish I had some pics of his car to show you

I dont need to drop the car real low. I just want the gap from the wheel to the wheel well to be gone. I have an apex n1, so if I go to low I will scrape it, and I dont want that to happen.

I have had lots of reccomendations on springs as well as struts. And the whole integra brakes, sway bars, master cylinder thing.

I may look into that $400 spring/strut combo on optauto.com.

Dont I also need to get the car re-alligned after I lower it?

And does anyone have any more ideas on what I could do with 400 $, I want to lower my car, but if something else catches my eye I would look into whatever that is also.

if ur planning on new tires soon wait till then..but, if not definetly get an alignment.if the car isnt slam d u wont need camber kit..the guys at sears keep trying to sell me on the idea of one but it just wont be necessary

most of the time, if you're not dropped more then say 1.75 inches, you don't need a camber kit. i say get h and r's and tokico blues. for 400

with the type r shocks, you will be fine with type r or si shocks, again, not that expensive. the wheel well fills out nicely and you do not need a camber kit, the little bit of negative camber will give you better handling as well. i would not buy tokicos unless you are into racing.

Im not into racing, Im just sick of looking at the wheel well gap. I will look into the suggestions you all have gave me.
