if a car had a H series motor in it before how difficult would it be to go back and put in a b series motor?

D/B series for civics and F/H for accords/ludes. Try to mix and match will be a pain in the *** and costly. Im sure It can be done. But not worth it really.

Accually, Ive seen a couple H series in 92-95 civics. But ive never seen a B16 in a lude or any D/B series for that matter.

i've never done this before, but back when i wanted an H22 in my ek...i was told that when you go cable, you can't go back!?!? i see that if you really wanted to...just swap the h and go k! since you're already cable tranny setup...just stay with them new swaps...just a thought...

no i mean a civic that previously had a h22 in it. since the tranny mount has to be cut off how hard would itbe to go back in drop in a b series motor

easy as hell....buy a new bracket from honda and just weld it on...that tranny bracket is like 30$

are you serious???LOL...welding on a new trans mount on the passenger side isnt hard or a pain in the ***...

also, he said that the shell perviously had a H motor in it and he wants to go back to B-series..but why???I see H22's go for cheaper than complete b16 swaps..and if the car already had a H22 in it, then it only makes it easier.

i totaled my eg and found another eg that i really want to buy but it had a h22 in it before i just want to take all my stuff that i can salvage from my car and swap it over

does anyone have a part number or something for the tranny mount?

also i know you would have to cut out more space for the shifter box to fit...would that be a problem when i try to put in my shift linkage

BTW i'm dropping a gsr in it

The reason us prelude owners dont put b series engines in our cars is because of the torque...the h series has a lot more torque than the b series. We have more weight as well so putting a b series into the prelude is not worth it...even though i would love a b series tranny!!!!

On the other note...putting an H series into a civic/teg is DEF worth it, just buy the H2B bracket that allows you to use the b series tranny on the h series motor.

60831-SR3-300ZZ-- this i believe is the part number for the mounting bracket you need (hope this helps)

you can check and see if your local dealer offers ordering over the web, if not you can always go in-store... i usually just take trips to the local honda dealer to get my oem parts (no charge for shipping and it's usually in one or two days too, if not already in stock)
