my boi has a momo steering wheel and a techniq hub and it takes a key to get the wheel off then you pull the little tab things behind the wheel.
quick question whats the point of having a de-tach wheel if you can drive with out it thats kinda pointless its for theft protection.

The point is, it's difficult to drive with a 4inch cylinder instead of a steering wheel. Tuning is pretty much impossible.

There's a number of different brands. I tried to use my friends steering wheel on my car, his quick release was identical to mine, but a different brand, it wouldn't fit at all. Just depends on the one you have, and if the theif has the same exact brand.

you could modify it... i cut notches in mine, and welded a notch into the hub.. that way its very unique.

its really easy for a thief to steak a car without a steering wheel.. all they need to do is invest in a big heavy vice grip.. i used vice grip on the round thing that the steering wheel goes to tons of times in the junkyard to steer the wheels to the right or left... its not too hard guys!!

couldn't they also remove the 6 screws and quick release and just bolt on another aftermarket steering wheel?

I put mine on my passenger seat to confuse the theif. Chances are, he won't look for it there.

this kinda relates to question #2... I don't have a quick release because

1. I like having an airbag
2. I don't want to carry around a steering wheel

I have a masterlock club-like device that has 4 prongs to latch onto the wheel (instead of 2) .... I'm not sure how useful it is, but I know the thief will have to make 2 cuts instead of 1, which will slow him down
