question regarding weight reduction.
hello, I'm just wondering if taking weights off the car worth doing? I mean will I notice performance like better mpg or even hp/torque? im thinking of taking off spare tire, jack, tools, and rear back seats. Please guide me to the right direction. thanks.

If it's a daily driver I would never take out any tools or emergency supplies, that would just be dumb.
No you won't gain any horsepower or torque by taking out weight. However, the car does theoretically accelerate better because you've improved the power to weight ratio. Also the less weight there is for the engine to haul, the less throttle you need to maintain speed, therefore less fuel, and thus better gas mileage.
If you're serious about taking out weight then the back seat is a good place to start.

Re: (Hardedge)
As previously stated, if its a daily car then no I would leave the weight portion of the car alone and not remove anything. If you want to do any track event then go for it. Strip the hole thing down. Go to the faq section thats stickied at the top of the page and look at the write up on weight reduction. Your car has a bunch of lining on the floor thats made of tar used for sound deadening that weighs a bunch so thats another thing to remove.
