Question Regarding Sunroofs!

Re: Question Regarding Sunroofs! (eug_34)
A sunroof is a sunroof...it's one thing to drop a different engine or tranny in, but do you really need to throw in a teg sunroof? Let me guess, it's JDM, too.

^have you measured them? Im guessing not.
Dont go spouting **** that you dont know. They are NOT all the same.
I can't give a good answer, but I wanted to make sure you didnt believe what this dude said w/o getting confirmation measurements.

No, he was saying it as in......"What is it? A JDM sunroof, why would you bother changing it"?
The only reason you'd be swapping it is if the glass is broken or part of the mechanics have failed. Or.......at least we'd all hope you werent swapping in a "JDM Sunroof".

Yeah I guess I should take some measurements. I was just seeing if anyone has done it and hoping it would be as simple as remove and install. And the reason i would like to know is becase I like the way Integ sunroofs open, not because its JDM

integ sunroofs upon above the car... civic sunroofs go back into the car when fully open... so i dunno if it would work

It would be cheaper and easier to go aftermarket... but since you already have a sunroof in the car it probably isnt that easy of a conversion. Plus it will probably leak and look like crap. Leave yours.

Re: (JDM_Ej)
How does the motion of the Teg one differ from the Civic one? Just curious. I know on my 98 EX, I can "crack" it, where just the rear edge pops up about 2", or I can fully open it, where the back edge drops down, and then slides back in between the headliner and the roof.

Yeah, my year civic does the same. The difference with an integs is that when you slide it open it doesnt get hidden under the roof and inbetween the headliner. It stays at an angle all the way back. Blah well whatever, i'll figure it out. I swear I thought i saw a civic here with a roof that opened similar to an integs but maybe it was aftermarket.

I have seen a thread on this either here, or jdmc. But I am pretty sure the dimensions are the same for the glass, but I cannot say for sure if all of the mechanical peices will swap. Also, the civic that has a sunroof that opens like a teg is 92-95.
