you can refinish the hood. If it has bad sun spots they will still show after refinishing. have the shop sand with p800 or finer then re-clear.

I thought most CF hoods were gel coated instead of clearcoated. I agree that you should have it sanded down and then get it clear coated.

cf hoods should have gelcoat because of the fiberglass. check this out before having your hood redone. it works for me. my hood had hella oxidation and looked really bad until i use these stuff and now it looks like new.

Whats actually wrong with the hood, oxidisation? scratches? stonechips?
If it's scratched and its just the clear gelcoar thats damaged you could give it a very light sand with really fine wet/dry and have a shop clear coat it (get them to put a few layers on it to help protect it). Just make sure you dont damage the actual carbon weave.

This is somewhat different but mostly the same:
My hood flew up and hit my windsheild and everything... so I replaced the windsheild, but now the two spots where the hood hit the roof it has pressure marks, basically the weave is exposed, I was thinking about putting more resin here? but I have been reading about just getting it clear coated... anyways, does anyone have any suggestions? I'll try to get some pictures to help yall understand
