Default Question on oil leakage

My Z6 is leaking oil from the left side of the head on to the tranny. Would the head just need to be tightened or do I need to replace the head gasket. Are any others doing this?. I had seen one thread where someones looked like mine?

Thanks

Z6, thats VTEC right? Ill put money on it that its your cam seal. I got the same problem with my GSR motor. They cost like 10 bucks and take 15 mins to change.

Thats for B series but you get the same idea.

Are you absolutely sure that the leak is coming from the head/headgasket?

I'll get a pic when I get off work. It looks to be coming from the back corner by the solinoid. The bolts are tight on the solinoid. the head is pretty new, so i'm thinking it might be loose on that side.

D-SERIES DO NOT HAVE CAM SEALS ON THE LEFT SIDE THEY HAVE DISTRIBUTOR O-RINGS

There was a thread about a week ago about this leak

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=700456

Turned out to be the distributor o-ring for 90% of us. Its a $2.00 part from honda.

It is most likely your vtec solenoid gasket. I had the same problem on my B18c1. I replaced the cam seal and still had the problem. I replaced the vtec solenoid gasket and it has been fine for almost a month.

Thanks Bauley. I think that is what it is. I replaced my distributer a while back. I'm just going to spray it down and double check the leak. It has to be some sort of ring or gasket. That pic looks just like mine. But it is leaking onto the back side of the tranny. I'll post the pic and let the pros choose!!
