Question: If AC is removed, do you retain heat?
i ask because i am thinking of keeping the AC off when i swap this winter. i know the heater core runs off the radiator, but does the lack of ac effect anything having to do with heat? thanx.

no, you'll still have heat. there is a heater hose that runs to the heater core. the a/c and heat have nothing to do with each other.

AC is a totally different system i thought, besides having an evaporator block some air to engine, its just dead wieght a little more tension on the engine due to compressor belt freely rotating i think.

Heater will work fine, however, your ability to defrost your windows will suffer, so when it rains, it will become difficult to see.

You'll keep your heat, and for the fog problem, I found the anti-fog solution from Rain X seems to work well.

Just take it all out and use the anti-fog. Thats what I did. You should not have that much of a problem being in AZ. Only thing you have there is rain and the anti-fog works fine for me in the rain.
I figure if you gut the car might as well go all out. So that is what I did, BUT its not for everyone.
