Default question.....help

i got a 97 civic dx and about to get a 99 civic dx complete swap, the d16y7. will i have a check engine light because supposely the 99-00 got more sensors? thanks for any help.

You will be fine as long as u use the same harness in the 97 dx. it will plug right up to the 99 swap.

yea i dont have the 97 harness..im going to use the 99 one...thats the problem

im going to use the 99 dx ecu thats coming with the swap or i can borrow a 97 dx one just for smog..im not trying to spend much so it doesnt really matter. as long as it'll get me from point a to b to c n back..

try the 99 dx ecu. if u get a CEL try the 97.. sorry i couldnt help much but im use to OBDI systems and not to many people swap for DX's so u caught me off gaurd..lol

nah its all good..im buying another shell thats why. i was just wondering. i hope there's no check light because i need to smog the car for registration. but yea i will try. will the 97 ecu work with the 99 wire harness though?

well u still have the ECU plugs in there correct?

yea..the obd2 wire harness is all one. im just curious because i need it to pass.

use the 97 spec just because that is the same year and you will need it to get pass the ref.

the only thing confusing me is that will the CEL come on if i used the 99 harness with the 99 ecu or the 97 ecu..thats only thing that im curious about and need help with. thanks though for the help
