Question on EK's with OBD1 ecus????????
I know that OBD1 ecu will cause the RPM tach not to work on EKs because the ECU feeds the tach on EKs, and OBD1 comes straight from the Ignition Module. I hooked up the wire that dangles near the clutch reservoirs to the cluster and my car wont start, and then I tried it from the dizzy and still the same problem. can anyone with experience shoot me some help plz.
Im using stock P2P ecu for my rpm to work but Vtec wont work, it works on the OBD1 ecu with the cost of the RPM not working...
Advices???
1999 Civic dx hatch
JDM B18C
Zerg Industries OBD2B to OBD1 Coonverter
Full Bolt Ons
Stock Single V Harness
Single Cam P2P ECU and OBD1 GSR ECU

Re: Question on EK's with OBD1 ecus????????
what?
It is not an EK unless you imported it.
Are you running an OBD2 -> OBD1 converter?
year and model of the civic?
engine?
Mods?
What harnesses are you using?
Sounds like you have issues with OBD2A vs. OBD2B, but there is no way to know with such little information.

Re: Question on EK's with OBD1 ecus????????
so you are using the wrong ECU. Also what engine and cabin harness were used(year)? have you altered the harness in any way? Have you tried another cluster to figure out if the tach is just broken?

all stock harness and cabin harness, only altered too wire it for vtec. im also using the obd1 usdm gsr ecu p72. im pretty sure its not broken because it works with the single cam ECU.
I've done this using the Honda 96-00 service manual as my guide

Check the pinouts from the jumper to make sure the wires are correct.
