question for d16 "tech" people.....o-ring in head?
ok...this is a sohc vtec head (my dad's) and we found this little o-ring sitting by it. It may have fallen out taking it apart, might have not even been there....i dunno.
so I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is some kind of ring that goes somewhere in the head....not vtec solenoid btw. I would guess the best place it "could" go would be between the rocker arm assembly and the head itself...but I'm not too sure.....can anyone help me out? A diagram of a d16y8/d16z6 would probably help out.
thanks.
also the o-ring doesn't really fit flush at all.....kind of sits 1/4 of the way in the head. The rocker arm assembly makes it look like there was something of that size there.....but I'm not sure

Re: (5thgen)
I've had a question for a while and i've done the search. I'm not a D-series kind of guy so i don't know this. I was talking to a guy in a chat room and he said that all D-Series engines have Carburaters. Is that true?

Re: (blackhatchy)
well, this was in the car chat forum on AOL and some of things he said, really didn't sound true. Like his B16 is running 420HP and he said it didn't have a turbo(he probably didn't know what it was.) The Biggest **** came out of him when he said "my older brother has a DOHC VTEC D16. that's when i left the room. I know that they are not DOHC but just wasn't sure about the carburater thing though.

Just ask the guy for dynos and 1/4 mile slips...if he can't produce tell him to STFU. The other side to that is...do you even want to bother...some people are too ignorant and pile that on top of arrogance...will lead you nowhere.

Re: (infinatenexus)
fpr wasn't taken off of the fuel rail....so i don't think thats it.
we found a haynes manual that says there is an o-ring on the oil control orifice.....on the head, so I'm guessing thats it.

He might have been refering to a D-16 A-1?</TD></TR></TABLE>
UM no. The A1 was an older DOHC non-VTEC Teg motor that was rated at aprox. 118hp.
