Default Question for Civic Owners- Serious Opinions Please

I have a friend who claims that he wants to drop a B18B (LS Eng) into a Civic DX hatchback and put in a Drag 3 Turbo in as well. The thing that really bugs me is that he says that he's mating the engine with the DX auto tranny. Is this possible? He says the tranny will hold the engine and turbo and I just don't think so. Thanks in advance. Please no flaming- serious posts please...

Please elaborate. He's so stubborn. Claims to have all the parts and wants to get HKS exhaust...blah blah blah. I don't know enough about B18B to retort. At first I thought he said B16B but then he said LS engine- so that's the B18B. What is the problem? Details. Thank you

A D series transmission will not bolt onto a B series engine. You can purchase a B series transmission and bolt it on Type R, GSR or LS but, not a DX, LX, EX, or even the HX....all of those trannies bolt onto D series engines.....side note...www.bseries.net

Now, if he gets an automatic LS tranny, that will work. But he will be much slower.

Thank you all so much. I knew he was blowing smoke up someone's as*. Can a B18B be turbo-ed period? I thought those engines don't respond well to FI because of higher compression? And also- B18B don't have VTEC correct?

This is not just rule of thumb, its just physically and mechaniclly impossible... well, unless you want to drill some new holes in the bell housing( would strongley not advise)lol

B18B doesn't have Vtec and it has the LOWEST compresion of the B18's...I believe at 9.4:1.......I am probably wrong but what the hell.
