Question for Civic owners...
My friend just did a swap on his 93 Civic SI. He's now using a type-r motor. My question is, what ECU can he use ? The type-r is OBDII and his car of course is OBDI. Can he just use a B16A and use a FPR to up his fuel pressure ? I told him, if he wants, he probably use a VAFC to tune the motor and everything should be fine. Suggestions/Comments are welcomed. Thanks guys.

if he just uses the stock P30 ecu, the fuel timing, and redline woud be a little off. if he uses the mugen program by itself then it would run too rich for daily driving. if he uses the VAFC or Field's vtec controller plus the mugen program and a trip to the dyno it would be best.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll see if he wants to get the ECU reprogrammed. I think someone here in Toronto does ECU programs, just gotta remember who.
