Default question bout overheating

okay heres the situation i drive a 1994 Honda civic LX(four door) im runnin a D16z6 i recently installed a new Radiator and thermostat. when driving my car on the freeway she was running really good fro about 70 miles. when i was almost to my destination and i started slowing down, the temp needle startd goin up real fast. i pulled into a gas station and checked the water. all the over heated water was in the resvoir tank and no water in the radiator so i changed the water(antifreeze) so it would be good. and it worked however on my way home again another 70 miles it started again and i had to change it AGAIN i want to know why its doing this i checked the radiator cap there is no milky residue oil is fine, also it doesnt smell like exhaust either so im stuck idk what else to check help me out

Did you thoroughly and properly bleed the system with the front of the car jacked up (or facing upward on an incline) after installing these parts?

QTF! I recently changed out my radiator. I let it cycle through about three times before I felt it was complete. The first time through I added a great deal of fluid. Just topped it off a bit for the other two. My gauge has been rock solid, just a bit south of midway.
