Question on boring TB's , power gains & intake sizes

I've tried to search this as much as possible but I haven't come up with much. I've been thinking of boring my stock GSR TB to 64mm from the original 60mm to match my Skunk2 intake Mani. I have a stock GSR cut away so its basically a rubber short ram. I also have an AEM v2 intake for a y8 motor that i retro-fitted to the GSR. I just drove it with the v2 intake on last night and it seemed really responsive up until about 6k. By 7k it seemed like my car was gasping for its last breath. By 8k i thought my car was gonna start slinging rods, valves and pistons.
So my questions are:

-Since the y8 v2 intake is 2.5'' , would it help much to cut the part where it tapers down and increase it to 2.75'' or even 3'' or are the v2 intakes too specifically designed for the engine they're sold for?

-Would increasing the TB from 60mm to 64mm to match my Skunk2 intake mani have much gain? Anyone have any dynos?

-Anyone have any links to dynos comparing intakes for the gsr?

-If a gsr tb is 60mm and my v2 intake is 2.5'', why in the hell am I losing power? 2.5'' is bigger than 60mm.

Throttle body and intake manifolds should be port matched, so yes. Having the intake manifold ported to match your TB would be helpful. Will you see incredible gains from it, no.

I believe, according to AEM at least, that all their intakes are designed for the specific car in mind and are all made (both shape and size) with the specific engine in mind. I think the idea of AEM's V2 intake is a velocity stack meaning is starts with a smaller diameter to increase the velocity of the air, then gets bigger right before the throttle body to allow a greater volume of air. So making the smaller diameter (2.5") part 2.75" or 3" would not help. That would be going against the entire design of the intake itself.

For the y8 version of the v2, the filter side of the piping is about 3.5''. It stays like that until the 90 degree bend towards the TB. At that point it goes to 2.5''. It seems very similar to the Gsr and Hype-r designs except it's atleast 3'' throughout. Thats why i thought if i had someone weld on the last elbow @ 3'' it would be the same as what AEM designed.

The reason I'm looking @ making it bigger is because
a)AEM GSr v2 is 2.75'' and ITR is 3''
b)my car felt like it was going to suffocate on the top end.

Anyone out there with an AEM Hybrid, Gsr v2 or Hype-r v2 system that can tell me what the largest diameter their piping gets?

You might be ahead to do so now that I've got a better visual on things. Like you said, if you can chop off where it goes from 3.5" to 2.5", and make the 2.5" either 2.75" or 3", you might solve the suffocating at the higher RPM's.

Think you could contact AEM and get a schematic for their piping? Or just find out what the different piping sizes are throughout the intake arm(s)?

Probably not because AEM's customer service is horrible.
