question on bent valves
i recently melted a piston in my b16 while spraying, car was running fine but smoking and knocking a little when at idle and had a funny sound when i drove it. i took out the b16 and put in a gsr short block and reused the head, when the head was taken off it looked ok. now my question is whether or not the valves may be bent even if they look ok from the bottom, because now that the gsr is in, it is still givin a knocking noise, and a weird sound that sounds like an exhaust leak when i drive or rev it. Now im not 100% sure it isnt a bearing but it is the same exact noise as the b16 had, and it would be a major coincidence, also the owner of the block pretty much guarenteed me the block was ok, even offered to put it in himself. any help is greatly appreciated

Re: question on bent valves (LSEGHATCH)
would a bad bearing cause smoke, or even a bent valve or somthing in the head? the thing is i bought a short block, now i swapped it in and it sounds like sht and gives off white smoke when i drive, i dont wanna take apart the whole thing when it could just be the head and i dont wanna get another head when it could be the block..
