Default question for all the SI's here

hi my friend has an Si tranny on his gsr eg, and hes convinced that he can take it to 150mph. from what i know the si tranny has got a short 5th and ends much before then. well how fast have you guys gotten your car to go? sorry for the weird question. thanks

yeah, he'd probably top out at like 140-145..something like that..

you think that high? i was thinking more in the 130's. only because on the freeway when i'm at 3500 hes at 5000 and i top out around 150. has anyone topped out their si?

my friends type r only goes around 145, so i dont thing the si would go fast then 135, but who knows

It's basically the same gearing..if not longer. It should be able to go above the speed of an ITR.

but, I dont' think that they Si could pull it's way up that high...a hybrid yes, but not an Si.

from what i've heard the itr has the same gearing but a longer 5th

i had my friends type r up to 147 even though they only claim 145. i had a gsr in my hatch and got it to 150 . i have only gotten my 99 si up to 140 @ 7700 rpm. could have gotten a little more out of it but the highway started to go up hill .

wow, if you were at 140 at 7700 then you probably had another 3-4 mph left in it. thats faster than i though, so maybe hes not lying since he redlines at 8200. hes a crazy bitch, his goal was to hit rev limiter in 5th and somehow i got stuck in his little *** civic, scarred the **** out of me! thanks for the help guys

um, my speedometer went a lil over 140mph on HWY I-5. but the meter might not be accurate. better get a radar gun to test it out. Si's can hit 140mph im pretty sure.
