Question for all my people using hondata....
...every now and then when I start my car, the car idles real low and I have to give it some gas in order for it to stay running. (the kind of rough idle you get when your IAC is going out) If I let it run for a few minutes, it stops. I have a P72 w/boost program.
Wanted to know if anyone else with odb2 to 1 conversion had same problem.

My guess is double check your wiring, since you have a OBD2-OBD1 conversion harness. Your problem might be in that area. My other guess could be the boost program on the P72 ECU. Other than that, just hope its a simple problem.

I have a hondata s200 w/ boost on my 94 del sol VTEC, which uses a p30 ecu. I am originally OBD 1 so I never had to convert to anything, but I am currently running a basemap, and do not have any issues you are talking about. Have you gotten it tuned yet, or are you running a basemap?

Yeah it has been tuned, and I have trie changing from a conversion harness bought of ebay to a Skunk2 harness and have the same problem.... I guess I'll just need to get another ecu and have it socketed.

I have had the same problems a couple times with a stock obd1 p72 and conversion harness.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it is happening all the time.
BTW...are you running a GSR head and manifold? If not just get a p28 its alot cheaper then an OBD1 p72.

No it not all the time, I just don't want it to get any worse!!!!! I have the b16 head and a type r manifold.... The only reason why I got the P72 was for the knock sensor.

I've had that problem with a lot of aftermarket ecu chips/programs, I consider it normal. You might be able to fix it by tweaking the idle columns in your rom.

The funny thing is that it goes away once it "warms up" good, or runs for a while. With the new tubular manifold by rev hard... I've noticed that my performace after the car heats up, doesn't decrease as much as it used to

Yep. The only 2 times it has happend to me was after work when I went to a gas station and filled up.
The trip is just long enough to get the car warmed up, but not that great. Then when I turned it on after gassing up it idled so low it would kill.
I don't have hondata yet BTW.

The exact symptoms of what I'm getting... If it is so common then, maybe it's not the ecu, it's the damn tuner's fault. Don't get me wrong, my car runs great, but when something is not perfect, I tend to start acting ****!!!!!

I say just live with it, and let the car warm up. Problem with troubleshooting it, is that you basically would have to let the car fully cool down inbetween tunes, and it'll take a lot of the tuner's time...
