question about a tachometer
Hi, i wasn't sure where this topic belonged so i'm sorry if i'm in the wrong area. I was wondering if anyone owns a pivot tachometer or at one time did own one. if so, did you like them? I was thinking about buying an autometer, until I saw my friend's new autometer, the needle would sometimes jump out of control while he was idling. Is it like that for most after market tachs? or is his fucked up? just wondering if pivot makes quality ****. which brand would you buy?

Re: question about a tachometer (Another_EK_Hatch)
on any tach at idle a tach will do that your stock tach is to but not to that degree, since aftermarket tachs are more accurate(if hooked up correctly) but if its jumping a ton a r's he might have tapped into a bad wire, but a cars more load at idle is wierd close you window all the way but try closing it more and youll ntoice your r;s did, but thats because your alternator is putting on much of a load while driving nothing. its pretty normal, id go autometer by the way

Re: question about a tachometer (Honda_project98)
the only reason i'd get the pivot over the autometer is because its smaller and cosmetically i think it looks better. if you guys know otherwise, let me know
