Question about shocks...
I have Tokico Blues on my Civic and I have a blown front shock. I already ordered a replacement shock but my question is, is the actual metal rod of the shock supposed to be visible? Or is there some kind of sleeve or something that goes over it? The mechanic told me that dirt and debris may have gotten into the shock and thats what went wrong. I know my back ones have a sleeve type thing and you can't see the rod.

Re: Question about shocks... (bigslimdog)
the only thing covering the rod end. should be the bump stop. they may be free floating in the rear. and fixed in the front. which is why u wouldnt see them too easily.

Stock shocks have dust covers on both front and rear. When you go with adjustable coilover springs you cant use the stock dust covers as those will hit against the threaded collars. If you're using just lowering springs, you should be able and should use the dust covers.
