try grabbing it lower, works for me, you don't have to grab the whole spring to compress it.

Re: question about removing back springs (ABK)
yeah i did do that i was afraid the top portion would still have enough compression to do some damage

Can use a breaker bar as a lever to pry em apart too. I had the same prob except it was after I got the spring out, and that made short order of it.

Re: question about removing back springs (spyderracing32)
just wrap the whole assembly up in a blanket and stick the top out of an opening in the blanket. stick your hex in there and use an open ended wrench. when it pops, its not bad at all and all the parts stay inside the blanket. ive dont this a couple times already and its worked/been safe everytime.

Re: question about removing back springs (Btothe3rdDegree)
Screw the spring compressor. Disassemble everything underneath the car, but keep the 2 bolts on the shock tower in, then slowly loosen the 14m in the middle (the one with the alan key). Keep your legs away from the bottom of the car. Take that 14mm off while trying to push it down with the wrench (not too important) and you'll hear a loud pop. Look underneath and voila, the spring is off the shock. Works every time https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
