question about rear lights with carbon rear hatch.
Hi everyone again!
I have decided to focus on my exterior mods. I am getting a new carbon rear hatch like this one below
Just curious as you are losing the reverse lights etc...
What can be done about the loss of the lights? are there special aftermarket lights which have all the lights in one?
And can someone tell me what lights those are in the pic? they look like tinted lights... are they the OEM?
Help guys!

Yes, you are going to losing your reverse light. Refer to the pictures above. Those pictures above are the only carbon fiber hatch that still allows you to retain reverse lights. Those tail lights *cough* aren't OEM they are made from APC. I'm pretty sure they are just altezza or some sort of altezza painted with clear tranparent red.

Actually in SLC reverse lights aren't required.

Well originally i was going to get the carbon rear hatch with the space for the lights but as you all know everything hear in the UK is F***ING rip off!!!
I can get this rear hatch for roughly $300... but if i get the one with space for the lights its almost $700!!!
They dont have many products like this in the UK... i looked on american ebay and theres a lot of cheaper gd quality stuff BUT!!! postage to the UK is $200+!!!
So thats my reason...
I suppose i could fabricate some kind of reverse light into the rear window...
THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOU REPLIES!!!
if anyone has got this rear hatch and fabricated a new reverse light can you pelase tell me what you did
THANKS!!!

ok since you have a legit reason? if I were going to do that I would find a set of the red and clear taillights, put them in the outer taillight spots and modify the turn signal housing to hold the reverse light bulb as well as the turn signal bulb, then use amber turn bulbs and clear reverse bulbs and since it would be behind a clear turn lense ...... viola. hope this helps thats just my .02. Im sure there are more ideas.

5THGENSI thanks for the advice... I was thinking that i would need to do something like that.
Also i am wondering if anyone knows what rear lights those are? I like how they are a nice red...
I was thinking of having something like that and building in a Reverse bulb with a clear circle part in the red shell... if you see what i am saying? pic below to explain... Is this possible?

I am almost 100% sure that that is not a carbon fiber hatch. I'm pretty sure it's the stock one with shaved inner tail lights painted black to match the spoiler and the carbon insert on the rear bumper.

i have decided to go for some Rear LED lights like these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-Ci...wItem
They are extremly expensive but i think they are worth it.
Also i am going to try and drill an extra hole in one of the sides where the clear plastic is... Then i will colour code it all red apart from one circular area which is clear for the Reverse light...
How hard is it to colour everything red?
THANKS
Josh

Not hard at all, you need to get some candy apple red spray paint. You can get them at hobby shops where RC cars are sold, you can either paint the whole tail light or tape off the parts you dont want painted and you will be good to go. It might take several coats to get it just how you want it.

ok thanks everyone for your help...
I will just spray the top clear part and mask of a circular patch, so the reverse light can shine through that.
Thanks everyone again!!!
