Question about OBDII to OBDI
I have a 96 hatch and the guy before me seems to have converted it to OBDI, It looks like I have an OLD obdI b16 but I have a question about what kind of parts I can get now. Could I run an OBDII Head or an OBDII Block with the car setup to run OBDI. Im just a little unsure about the whole wiring and if I am gonna have to get an OBDI block or Can I get an OBDII Block

Re: Question about OBDII to OBDI (Spooled1.6L)
Sure, you can run an obd2(96-up) block or head with your set-up.
There is no real physical difference between the obd1 and obd2 motors.
The only real difference is the components on the motors, such as: injectors, distributor, alternator, etc.
If you swap over to an obd2 block or head, just swap your obd1 components onto it and you will be fine.

Re: (1FakeAssSI)
So even though the car is setup to be run as OBDI I should have no problem running OBDII Head or Block. I think the one in there right now is an OBDI engine. But I guess your saying it doesn't matter
Another question, i guess besides them converting to run OBDI I guess to run that older motor what other bennefit is there to running OBDI over II
