Default Question About Maryland Emission......

Alright guys and gals........My car is due for Maryland emission inspection on May 15th. One problem my car is dropped......about a finger of space in the back and to the top of the tire on the front.......SI wheels with 195/55/15. Last time I went they put it on that damn think that looks like a dyno, and it hit and dented my oil pan, I really do not want that ish to happen again. Is there any way I can get around having to do that? Any help would be appreciated. (if you have something dumb to say pls keep it to yourself....thanks)

have coilovers or springs? coilovers, just raise it back up. springs, you're probably going to need to put your stock springs back on.

My best friend manages the emissions station in Annapolis. If you car is dropped they usually give you a 3 year waiver AND you don't have to pay the $15. In fact he always told me to drop my coilovers down low so I wouldn't have to get my car tested. PM me if you want more info.

The last time I went for emmisions (probably 3-4 months ago), they only hooked up the OBD2 scanner to it. They didn't do the usual load dyno....it literally took less than a minute to get my car 'inspected'.

If your car is an OBD-II car, they'll just hook up the OBD-II scanner and check for codes. If you car is older, they put you on the dyno.

I'm dropped on HR Sports with Koni on the lowest setting and I didn't remember any clearance problems. But then again I already had a big dent in my oil pan . I'm rollling on 205/40-16 so the tires are basically the same size.

A couple of my friends have been to emmisions with lowered vehicles. They were told they would just do the tailpipe test because they didnt want to damage the vehicle on the roller.

Maybe the Annapolis emissions station is different then. I know for a fact they won't test lowered vehicles. I have got waivers for my last 3 vehicles. (00 teg, 00 hatch, 94 hatch) It didn't matter if they were obd1 or obd2.

Good luck.

Since you have a pre 96 vehicle you won't have the OBDII test (where they actually plug your car into a computer). You are OBDI (all Civics from 92-95 are)
