question about honda pistons
are honda pistons "zero clearance" pistons???
reason i am asking is because i had a slight oil leak coming from my valve cover so today i changed the gasket. some reason i never reset the ECU when i reset my timing the other day so i went ahead and did that today. upon getting everything back together and starting up the car, it sounds as if one or more of my pistons are hitting the valves. i know last night and these days before it didnt do this, so i wouldnt think the timing has anything to do with it. i dont see why resetting the ECU would cause it to do this but i could be wrong. i originally thought it had to do with oil pressure from having the oil leak that i just discovered but i checked the oil and according to the dipstick i still have about 4 quarts in it. can anyone offer any advice or help???

Re: question about honda pistons (BurntRice009)
Reseting the ECU would not cause your pistons to hit your valves. Although reseting the ECU would not cause this either, maybe the tapping noises you hear are due to slack in your valvetrain. Try a valve adjustment.
