Question about Headlights
<FONT COLOR="red">Ok....</FONT>
I have a set of phillips Hid's on stock 2000 civic headlights. My question is you know the reflecter piece inside the headlight that usdm civic's have but Ctr headlight don't have. If my Hid's came with a reflector over the bulb, could i remove the stock reflector piece? Has anyone done this? Tried a search but didn't find anything specific enough. Just trying to find out if there would be to much glare from the housing itself.

Re: Question about Headlights (Jdm Ek Hatch)
I have OEM CTR headlamps with autolamps-online HIDs...with the right kind of shield you should be okay. here is a pic of the shield that came with my HIDs
what kind of shield do you have - is it similar to mine above or like the casper shield below
if you have a shield like mine - you can probably take the inner headlight shield out...if you have a shield like the casper shield, I would leave it in
EDIT to see more pics of my HIDs (cutoff too) see https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=644430
see here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=574577 its fine to remove the shield/diffuser in USDM housings AS LONG as you are using one of the shields above - please NOTE when fiting reflective HIDs in you will certainly have glare/flare but shields similar to those above will reduce glare/flare & help produce a cleaner cutoff BUT you won't get results like OEM HID reflective housings OR retrofitting OEM HID projectors

Re: Question about Headlights (adirondackR)
the one that i have is more like the one you have, not the casper like one. i'd have to take the bulbs out to be sure its been a while since i have seen them, do you have any pics of your light beams w/o the stock shield?(ctr rather)

"the half shield onto the bulb" you mean this
you still NEED one of the shields pictured above - if you are NOT going to get one, I would still leave the diffuser/shield (that comes standard in USDM housings) in the headlamp...BTW you **** (glare & cutoff) is still gonna be all over the place . I would suggest getting the casper shield & removing the stock OEM diffuser/shield... I edited my post to include more links to informative threads on REFLECTIVE HID retrofits

Sounds like some people have some concern about diffrent bulbs.

No mine are different then the ones pictured. My bulbs have a shield built into them
and its not the shields show that you add on
