Default Question About Exhaust

Im a bit confused about getting an after market exhaust. Ive seen exhaust system go for around 500 and then just mufflers for much cheaper. If I were to just an after market muffler could I get the muffler shop to put the additional piping in? If so how much would it cost (an estimate)

yeah... the piping will probably run 100 bucks, and an extra 30-50 for a resonator (you need it)

If i were to do this would I see the same power gains that I would see with a whole a exhaust system?

as long as you get mandrel bends and no crazy pipe routing, it should be the same if not better.

I'm not sure how much the muffler shop would charge you, but they'll rape you on labor cost. Also, the bigger piping you get, the higher the price gets. If you're interested in making the most HP out of your aftermarket exhaust, in my opinion you're better off spending the $500 and getting a nice complete exhaust, like Greddy Evo (biased because this is what i have), or Apex-i (used to have it).

Anyway, good luck with it! Remember, you almost always get what you pay for so just be careful and patient with your decisions

custom piping is basically the same as the piping that companies sell as a full exhaust....the differences are minimal...ive had both and i like my new piping better than custom piping....i can tell a bit of a power difference but the power to dollar ratio isnt very good...try it out its only 100 bucks

Im on a budjet so im keeping money in mind here so the custom piping sounds a whole lot more appealing to me right now.
