Question about an EM1 engine Im trying to find F/S...
Ok, so Im in the process of resurrecting an 00 EBP SI. Im trying to find an EM1 motor for it, but not having much luck in the classifieds. So, I tried looking on places like Hmotors, etc. The latest model B16A2 Ive been able to find is for (as the sites all say) a 92-95 Civic...
Am I not looking hard enough, or not looking in the right places? Or is that the engine I need and I need to perform the obd1 motor in an obd2b car swap and splice the crank sensor wires to make the motor work in my car with the origonal obd2b P2T ecu? Any help would be killer! Thanks in advance.

well i believe the b16A2 is only a us motor for the SI's..so looking at hmotors wont help much. i would say just get and obd1 motor and get an obd2B-obd1 conversion harness and get an obd1 b16 ecu

I was thinking of that, but it wont pass smog due to the vtps being required to be wired in. Not that Ive ever had to deal with a smog or emissions test because up till now Ive owned nothing newer than a 94 hatch, but if I do have to deal with it being that this car is newer, Id like it to be as legit as possible.

and a crank senser. the JDM B16 is actually 10 hp more. little higher compression. but as far as i know there is an OBDII JDM B16. that should just plug right into your harness

The only one Ive been able to find the would basically plug right in is a B16B CTR motor, and unfortunatley, I dont have $3000+ cash on it lol!

I was thinking of that too. Putting a B18A (obd-0) into a 92-95 civic, you would just use all obd-1 ls components to make the motor work right?
The only thing I was worried about is this whole crank sensor thing. Ive never played with any civic newer than a 94, so im completley in the dark about the crank sensor stuff, besides the fact that I read syndicates thread on using obd-1motors in obd-2a and obd-2b vehicles.

i tihnk for the crank sensor you just have to change the oil pump. dont quote me on that, i think thats what i was told onetime.
