They are not interchangeable. The VTEC and non-VTEC cylinder heads have different bolt patterns for the distributor mounting arms.

No, no difference.

What model you you have?

If CX, DX, or LX, you can used any '92-95 distributor from those models.

If VX, EX, or Si, you can use any distributor from those models.

What is wrong with your existing distributor?

well i have a cx and the problem is that the oil got inside of it becuase the gasket was no good anymore. so now you know how the rotor suppose to spin when you take it out my does not want to move it jammed . all i see is that the parts that makes rotor spin is rusted. so the car still starts it just that it runs crappy. so i was wondering if i can replace it with a ex one from a 93 .

Sounds like the bearing failed, so you do indeed need an entire new base.

You cannot use a distributor from an EX on your CX. You need a distributor from a '92-95 CX, DX, or LX.

The CX, DX, and LX modles dont have a VTEC head on the engine and if u try to use a dizzy from an EX, VX, or ,Si the bolts will not line up As Targa250R already mentioned
