Question about difficulty of swapping different engines...
I'm looking to make a fast streetcar to see me through college til I get out and buy an s2000 or something like that..
I don't have the time to do an engine swap myself, so I'm wondering which is the best engine to get swapped in my 97 civic ex coupe for my application (rare track use, mostly DD & some legal drag track racing..]
I need a few things to be thought of:
Stock power
Engine Potential with basic bolt-ons
Longevity
Engine swap cost/difficulty level
Cost to get new tranny, etc if applicable

Re: (twinj)
I'm a college student, so obviously (read above first) $$ is a big factor in the build, especially since I will be paying a shop/mechanic to do it for me. I'm looking for ~200whp, torque at least 120wtq.

Here's something to consider:
Why are you blowing money a motor swap and making a fast street car .... when you have tuition, books, supplies, food, and rent to take care of.
If you must have a motor swap ..... get an H22A or a B18C1 ......

you're in college, and you still have money burning holes in your pockets? I'm ******* jealous. I can barely get by and still have loans to ******* pay off. Anyways, you say dd, track, 200 hp?
want a cheap, effective way out?
75 shot nitrous
$500, power whenever you want it. You got to your power goals, you can do your dd, your "street legal dragging" etc etc, be satisfied and run with it
