Question about Del Sol floor mats
From my understanding Del Sol mats have been discontinued from Honda. I found a brand new set and the guy wants $150. And he is not willing to negotiate. Is it worth it?

how much do they mean to you?? Thats the question. Me personally... I wouldn't dare spend that much for some used floor mats. I live in Atlanta, GA and we have a shitload of junkyards.

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
They are definately nice and rare too especially BRAND NEW. They are worth 150. but i cant bare to dirty them so it ruins the purpose of being a floor mat. BAG YOUR SHOES when you get into the car lol

It's a floor mat!
Do you want to put the car in a glass case and just look at it , or do you want to drive the thing? I think that's the real question you should be asking yourself.

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
The reason I want the mats is because the ones in it right now slide under the clutch pedal constantly. I looked at the replica mats on:

But, one of the reviews comments that they slide under the pedals as well. The car is getting fresh paint in the next month (I hope) from Milano Pink to Milano Red. And I am also replacing any item that looks questionable to get the car back into as close to new condition that I can.

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
For 6th gen Civics there is a fix for the sliding floor mat. There very well could be one for del Sols too.
Check with Honda. All it is is a flat piece of metal that's bolted to the floor. At the front of this piece of metal a flat spike pokes up. Then they put a hole in the floormat and attach a grommet to it. The spike locks the floormat in place.
I would love a set of brand new floor mats and if I had a del Sol I would pay that much for them. They would only be for special occasions though. If you just want something new because the current ones slide, these aren't for you.
Mention these mats in the DSOC thread in Appearance/Cosmetic. I'm sure someone there would greatly appreciate them.

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
If they're a brand new set of OEM's from Honda they are DEFINITELY worth the 150 dollars.
NOFX is dead on the nuts with his post about the driver's mat sliding. My girlfriend's 97 DX came without floor mats when she bought it so we through some cheapies in it. We then ordered a set of Weather-Tech rubber mats. Luckily her's already had the metal tab installed in it and I simply cut a small hole in the Weather-Tech mat to match the tab.
If you want a great all-season mat that you don't have to worry about ruining and having them wear out get the Weather-Tech ones. They're like 100 bucks for the set of 4 but they are some of the nicest mats I've seen. They come in gray, black, or tan also. You have to trim the rear two very slightly to make them fit perfect but they are extremely nice.

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
They are all pretty rare, and 150 isn't a bad price. Please don't trash the mats, they are extremely rare to find new.

Sorry, I meant their thread here on H-T. I'm sure people on the site can help too though.

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
Rainbow logos are the newer style. They are normally the cheaper of the OEM del Sol mats, because they are the newer and they were pretty much the only style for the last few years. $150 is a decent price.
New zig-zags are pretty much gold, as they are older and came in three different colors (blue, red, green)

Re: Question about Del Sol floor mats
i have a set of the rainbows that were in great shape, and had a beat up drivers side. i keep in to cover my nice clean drivers. found this site that makes a perfect fit replacement. unfortunately they had to quit putting the logo on them. they also make a rear cargo mat.
