Default question about ctr headlight legality?

there was a dude that made a thread in gdd about him getting a ticket for his jdm itr front. i learned in that thread that the jdm itr front isnt DOT approved and therefor is illegal in california. also someone stated that the reason is because usdm lights point / that way as to not blind on coming traffic and jdm lights point \ that way for the same reason. so my question is, is it the same case with ctr headlights?

that pointed headlight thing is bullshit, what happens when you're changing lanes or making a turn? or following someone? your headlights are still pointed right at someone...

anyway CTR headlights are illegal anyway because they dont have the reflectors in the turn signal area

been running CTR headlamps with autolamps-online / hid-online h4 hylow kit for about 2 years w/no problems...

jdm ITR front conversions are different b/c projectors have sharp cutoff which is angled like \ \ (lil too steep but you get the idea) where as usdm projectors are angled like / / when driving on the right side of the road jdm front casts light on the oncoming lane instead of away from it like usdm projectors....b/c those friggin japanese drive on the wrong side of the road

Ever heard of bulb shields? ctr's don't have them and usdm ones do. Honestly that will be more of an attention getter than no reflectors in the turn signal area.

yes I have heard of 'em I realize you are talking about the light diffusers that are in usdm headlamps but not jdm ones

http://www.hid-online.com makes the "best kits" IMO with very nice casper shields...BUT if I could do it over again I would retro fit some ECE code bi-xenons

look at the casper shields that come with the "kit" I have

what does it matter??
My buddy got a ctr, and was showing me all the **** he has to do to make it illegal, what he did was take of the housing of a 99-00 light, and just put it on the ctr headlight , a cop could never tell, considering it would say dot approved.. and it wouldn't change the headlight at all
