Default Question about coilovers and Bilstein HD shocks...

Ok, so I get all excited to have my new coilovers and I get right down to installing them.

However... my problem is that in the rear, the shocks that I have been using (Bilstein HD's) and would like to continue using, have too long of a "throw". In other words, at a normal position, when they are uncompressed, they are too tall, thus making lowering of the rear-end of the car any more than ***-high a lost cause.

What's happening currently is this: I have the car at the desired ride level in the rear, but when the shocks are uncompressed, the springs are "too short" and have play in them (just enough to cause a loud "clank" noise when they recompress after hitting a bump, but not enough for them to jump out of the collar or the hat).

My question boils down to this: am I screwed? Is there any possible plan of action that would allow me to keep my desired ride height in the back, yet avoid the rather disheartening *clank* whenever I hit a bump? I'd rather not buy new shocks, but I guess it wouldn't be completely out of the question if there is a shock with about a half an inch shorter travel than the Bilstein HD's.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I wanted to make sure I explained myself well.

Oh yeah, forgot about that... they're "Cosmo Racing" coils.. No excuses, they're cheap. But as far as I can tell, I would have this same problem if I went with more expensive GC's or Skunk2's, as the springs on those coils seem even shorter than these are with the helper springs installed...

Also, another question... I probably should've asked this before I bought these, but here goes... anyone have any comments on the dual-spring design vs. the classic one stiff spring style? So far, these things ride like a dream with my bilstein HD's (much more forgiving on the bumps than my old Neuspeed Race's on the Bilsteins), and the car stays practically flat in the corners, vs. the diving I had with my neuspeeds. Is there any other reason for having these in besides ride quality, and what effect will it have on the ride quality if I take them out and adjust the collars up some?

Here's a pic...

Hmm, I got the Bilsteins as well with Skunk2's coilovers and I haven't had that problem....

Vap... you have any pics of the drop on your car?

I dunno, maybe I'll just scrap these (I can probably get 150 for them on eBay ) and go with some Skunk2's.

Here's a pic of mine with the rear at the ride height I'd like it at... right now, it's clanking like crazy like this...
