Default Question about B18c axel and hub problem?

I was reading the swap sticky...and I like the look of the B18c5/jdm b18...here's my question...under the cons section it says "If JDM ITR is used, the 36mm axle 32mm hub problems occur" I'm not sure what ITR is....or what kinda of problems are being talked about? Wouldn't the axels come with the hubs on them? Just wanted to know before I got into this.

My other thought is the H22... My question about that is "transmission feel is vague IMHO"... Is there any way to improve the feel? What causes that? Is there a diff. tranny to mesh up, that would be better?

Thanks.

Hey, I had the exact same question when I went with my JDM B18C R.

It was hard to find an answer, so I'll save you that trouble.

IF you buy the engine and axels out of the integra in Japan then the ends of the axels will be too big for your hubs, and you will have to ocnvert to the JDM Type R 5-lug front hubs.

IF you buy the engine from a website like Password JDM (this is what I did), you have the option to get axels and a shift linkage and mounts, all of which WILL FIT your car. I'm sure Hmotorsonline also does this, but I recommend PWJDM, I had a good experience with them

So I would highly recommend to get the full swap with new axels, mounts, shift linkage, ecu, blah blah blah. Its the easiest way to go, I ended up paying $5059 with shipping to florida when it was all said and done.

All I know about H22s is from my buddyw ith a built H22 integra. I'm relatively sure they all have cable transmissions, and with cables the feel sucks anyway. Theres no way to improve it unless you have an assload of money and want to do a hyrdaulic conversion on it, but it wouldn't be worth it. I would reccomend against getting an H22 unless you want to drop alot of money into the head, or into a turbo. His integra has $8000 of head work done, and he only has 20-30 more hp than I do on the stock engine. Not to mention with the Type R you get an LSD, and better gas mileage than a built H22. When he gets into VTEC, you can actually watch his gas gauge start to move. His cams are insane.

I have the JDM S80 tranny that comes with the B18CR, along with a short shifter, and I absolutely love the feel of it. The only thing I dont like is 5th gear is way the hell out in right field, I usually punch whoever is in the passenger seat in the leg.

h22's have tons of potential, ditch the tranny and do an h2b, h series motor with b series tranny
