Question about axles and vibration
I got a 93 civic coupe.I changed the D/S axle, but I have a bad vibration at 30-35 mph in the floor to be specific.I went to a honda parts website and the factory axle has whats called a damper (honda part number 44351-SR3-902) The reman one i put in does not,is this the cause of my vibration???? is that a vibration damper? I've seen online new aftermarket ones with the damper, but should i buy the honda part or aftermarket? pls any advice would be great

Re: Question about axles and vibration
no r u talkin bout the rubber piece halfway down the axle shaft? i dont think that would cause your vibration. ive had axles from autozone that the lock ring on the end wont keep the inner hub of the axle inside the tranny and the axle comes out the tranny about an inch and you will get a bad vibration. it happened to me on my d.a. not long ago. i had to change the lock ring on the end of the splines that go in the tranny. jack your **** up and see if the inner hub of the axle is butted all the way up against the tranny, or if backed out a little. if it did the lock ring isnt keepin the axle all the way in and needs the lock ring changed. also make sure your axle nut is tight as ****. those are the only two reasons you would have a vibration after installing a new axle. or either the new axle is ****ed
