Default how much torque on head?

Hey guys i just picked up a d16z6 and i need to replace the headgasket, and i need to know the pattern i should do to take the headbolts off and the pounds of torque i should put down with i put the head back on.

They torque to 57 lb-ft.

Hey man not everyone owns a helms manual so when someone makes a post like this why not just help them out instead of posting that. I'm pretty sure if he had acess to a manual he'd use it.

and not

and i put down 57 right off the back or what?

The sequence I posted is the correct one for a D16z6, I ususally torque the headbolts in three stages, hand tighten in small increments, then I torque them to half the factory spec, and then go back and re-torque them to factory spec.

True that- what RedlinedVTEC stated; torque in three stages and take it off the same way in three stages...

alright, now that i have the head off, i need to change a piston ring in cylinder 3.... if im looking at the bottom end is it....

1 2 3 4 or
4 3 2 1 or how is it?
